my teaching philosophy

The mushrooming demands of teachers in our country are a clarion call for a change in the points of views among the younger generation towards the profession of teaching. Plausibly, most of the people including the parents have parochial thinking about this profession because of the fact that the salary of teacher is low has embedded in their mindsets. Therefore, most of the parents especially do not encourage their children to assimilate into the field of teaching by alleging that teachers do not have glorious futures. However, I protest vehemently over such absurd words which will never deaden my spirit for being a teacher.

In my own opinion, I feel that teachers do have sobering responsibilities with the sole aim of ensuring the students learn semantically in the lessons. Therefore, we should not believe the hullabaloo on a teacher’s role, but to try our utmost to change the next generations’ views so that they can think out of the box and will not be influenced by any other negative opinions. Honestly, it is not a cinch for being a teacher since they have uphill tasks to make sure that the future children have sterling success besides having a paragon of virtue.

In my own teaching philosophy, I will use innovative teaching methods so that my students will not get bored in the class. As an example, I will not be the one who is going to talk for the whole class, but to enforce a two-way learning technique in order to exchange my opinions with the students and we can learn from each other. This is because I realize that I am never perfect to know all other new knowledge which is the oasis of life for us to have a better achievement. In the class, I will not only touch the knowledge on the lessons but also other extra experiences which the students might have confronted. I might also try to understand those students more on their personal lives because I am not only interested to help in their academic performances, but as well as their problem-solving skills when they are faced with trials and tribulations. It is very important to develop their fortitudes in confronting obstacles so that they will never be daunted by the stumbling block of success which will negate their undertakings.

In my lessons, I will put my best foot forward to ensure that the class is interesting. There are not only notes and explains. Yet, I will organize some outdoor lessons once a while in order to generate excitements for the students. Perhaps in the drawing class, I would want to bring my students out to the nature so that they can experience the natural environment themselves and let their imaginations roam unbridled. I feel that this method is much more valuable and is more effective since children learn from experiences and through their five senses. It is definitely better than just telling the children what the nature is like because they might not understand what I am talking about. Furthermore, I will give some exercises to the students as enrichments so that they remember what they have learnt and at the same time, I will make sure that the exercises will not be a burden for them, hence “ Practice makes perfect”.

Then I will want to test the students on their abilities to see whether they can follow the lessons and to know where they stand. Next, I will plan a new strategy to accommodate their learning abilities, hoping that they can keep up with the class. Certainly, I will not segregate those weaker students from the better ones because my intention is to let them learn from one other and of course to share their knowledge. Moreover, I want to get relevant feedbacks from the parents and even the students on my teaching techniques in order for me to improve on my own so that I can learn from my mistakes because “Those who never fail are those who never try”. Through this evaluation of mine, I will be able to elucidate the advantages and disadvantages of my teaching methods.

As we know, having a fountain of knowledge is one of the most essential aspects in teaching. Therefore, I will probably make sure myself to possess teaching savvy by putting unremitting efforts in order to gain experience before I am able to teach my students. Absolute good of my teaching philosophy is definitely impossible as there might be other shortcomings which will plausibly cause the parents or other people to have a modicum of faith in me. However, this will never deaden my adamant spirit in teaching because I will always believe that “The starting point of all achievements is faith in self”. Inevitably, I will face with countless problems, but I will not be fearful since I know that there is always an answer waiting. In order to succeed in life, the power of one’s belief is essential because there will be a “voice” to guide us when our life may seem soulless or hopeless. With the last ounce of leonine courage, we will be able to strive in life.
